December 3, 2006 ("The Day Of Conclusions, And Atonement")

9:15 AM, Conclude that The United State of America did indeed at some point in the last 4 years or so in fact invade Iraq, which is indeed in fact a country

9:30 AM, Conclude that everything was going just fine in Iraq right up until the midterm elections, at which point it started going not just fine, and that it's almost as if the Iraq thingie turned into a giant, civil war quagmire virtually over night (weird)

9:40 AM, Conclude that O'Connor should apologize to Baker for calling him a useless has-been with breath that could stop an American military invasion that's sort of not legal

9:45 AM, Conclude that it's imperative that the new Democratically controlled House and Senate work with President Bush, unlike how uncooperative the House and Senate were when they were controlled by the President's own party (also weird)

10:10 AM, Conclude that there really is something to The Powell Doctrine of Overwhelming Force (not to mention the switters Doctrine of Overwhelming Cocktails), and that it's almost always a good idea when you're invading another country to bring 3 more divisions than you think you really need (and one more keg than you think they can drink)

10:20 AM, Conclude that playing partisan politics is almost never a good reason for 11 soldiers to die

10:30 AM, Conclude, ultimately, that talk is still pretty cheap these days, and that, on account of inflation, should be a real feather in the cap for you supply-siders"

Hey, speaking of Diplomacy, I'm saddled with administering this thing, and we're still short a couple of players. If I knew I'd have to be a recruiter too, not sure I'd have agreed. You interested, dude?

No way. I have the attention span of a 2 year old, and I can barely read. Add the fact that my diplomacy skills on are on par with something along the lines of, "Hey pagepushing fuckheaded retards," and I think you can imagine my distaste for all things that require patience.

Always nice to see you. Why can I not find rundeep's blog, though I am an idiot?

Still thinking upon splitting that case with you. If you ever get this far south, &c., and things of that nature.

Rundeep's blog is here. She's not really religious about keeping it up, but it's a different bunch of material than on the Fray usually (not that you can follow people around now).

Between you and august, they'll have to wheel me out of wherever I visit. Not that I'm objecting mind you. Sounds great.

Well, OK, reruns are a little annoying, but at least this is one of my favorites.

HA! My ideal BB8 scenario played out perfectly! I was so hoping Jess would put up Justin (because it was obvious America would tell Eric to shitcan the little weasel). So it was only a matter of Evil Dick working his headgames to swing the rest of the votes. Sweet.

I wasn't too thrilled with the "America's Player" twist at the beginning (because it was obvious America's agenda would play havoc with any smart player's on-the-ground strategy). But the delicious thing is that the deal has punched up the in-house paranoia by a good order of magnitude. What a great season this is turning out to be!

I have to admit that I'm not a little surprised at how much I've been enjoying this season since about 2 weeks ago. And I think you're exactly right about the element America's Player has brought to the antics. I was pretty suspicious of the idea at the outset, but the ensuing paranoia really has added to the already festering drama.

I hate to disappoint you, but you probably won't be happy when you see Hurricane Refugee Survival Quiz and Bill Clinton Caused 9/11. The irony? I'm having to cut and paste from, that's right, dailykos.com. (Kos was on Meet The Press this past Sunday morning. What a dork.)
